Carey Mulligan won’t take responsibility for her fashion sense.
The An Education star says she can’t believe she would ever be picked out for her style sense because she has a helping hand from a professional when it comes to picking out clothes.
“Fashion is not something that comes naturally to me. It is not me, it is someone else who tells me what to wear, so I don’t have any fashion sense,” admits the 26-year-old Brit actress.
“If it was up to me I would just wear a jumper every day. But I have a stylist so everything that I wear on the red carpet, to an event or an award show was put on me and I just look down at it and go ‘Really? This? Okay then.’ I don’t really know anything about fashion. It is a big misconception.”
Carey recently admitted she thinks the free clothes she gets can be wasteful.
“If someone sends me a bag and it’s really expensive, I think, ‘You should give these things away, you should make some money’,” she said.
“I just gave most of my shoes to my brother’s girlfriend, she went crazy.
“I tend to hang on to really nice things, but what can you do with a dress you wore to the Oscars? It sits there. It’s a bit of a shame really.”
