Lady Gaga "I don't do any hard drugs anymore"

Lady Gaga has insisted that she no longer uses hard drugs recreationally. 
Co-hosting ABC's The View on Monday, the 'You & I' singer - who previously claimed that she used illegal substances in order to mask the "trauma" of her youth - credited her father with helping to pull her back from the edge of addiction before it consumed her. 
She said: "I used to do hard drugs. I was so embarrassed. My dad called me out about it one day and so I stopped. I don't do any hard drugs anymore. 
"I am a part of the green club sometimes. My dad was like 'I know what you're doing, because I did and I lost every friend who ever meant anything to me'."
Gaga also revealed that she was "in shock" after learning about the untimely death of Amy Winehouse.
Winehouse was found dead in her Camden, North London flat earlier this month at the age of 27 and was laid to rest in a private funeral on July 26.
Making a special guest appearance as co-host of The View on Monday, Lady Gaga expressed her sadness over Winehouse's loss and criticised the media's response to the tragedy.
Shesaid: "I'm so devastated and so sad. I really couldn't speak for like 48 hours straight. I was in such shock. You know, I think the most unfortunate thing about it all is the way the media spins things. Like, here, we can learn from Amy's death.
"I don't think Amy needed to learn any lessons. I think the lesson was for the world to be kinder to the superstar. Everybody was so hard on her, and everything that I knew about her was that she was the most lovely and kind woman."
Lady Gaga previously admitted that taking drugs helped to forge her early music career in many ways. 
She has also revealed that she still occasionally smokes pot, as it inspires her when sitting down to write songs.
